What is TDEE?

TDEE is an acronym for Total Daily Energy Expenditure. We use the TDEE to estimate the number of calories we burn in a day. In order to calculate your TDEE, you must first calculate your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR). This is the total number of calories that your body needs to continue functioning at rest. Your sex, weight,
height, and age will affect your BMR.

Now, we don't lay in bed all day, meaning we require more calories than our BMR. We need to factor in movement & exercise. This includes more than just your workouts, it also includes NEAT (Non-Exercise Activity Thermogenesis)-walking, fidgeting, etc. and TEF (Thermic Effect of Food)-the energy required to digest your food.

We use an "activity level" multiplier to factor these into our TDEE. Our TDEE is an estimate of the number of calories we burn in a day
